The 420 is the new comer to the Waiuku Club. After a lot of feedback from our Juniors we made the decision to invest in some multi-handers.

The younger sibling of the Olympic 470 class, the boat is ideal for either two teenagers or an Adult / teenager combination.

These boats (optionally) introduce some advanced concepts such as hiking on a trapeze wire, foresail management, spinnaker set and retrieval. They are also a great platform for teaching the ropes whereby the second crewman need little or no experience.

We are currently using the 420 fleet for inter-school team racing, the team having travelled as far as B.O.I to compete.
